First video of Dead Island 2 gameplay

California screaming.

The first video showing gameplay footage from Dead Island 2 has been released.

It's sunny, colourful and very, very bloody. The emphasis is on creative killing, by the looks of things, and doing lots of it. You can freeze zombies then wrench them to pieces; you can hold a small boat's engine, rev it up and chop zombies apart. It really gets you thinking - an educational game of sorts.

The video doesn't delve deep enough to show what difference Spec Ops developer Yager - new to the series - has really had, but the humour and relentless killing is still there in abundance.

Dead Island 2 was announced at E3 and is due out spring 2015 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
