Fez is coming to iOS this year

Adventure is ready!

Eurogamer's Game of 2012 Fez is getting an iOS port later this year, developer Polytron has announced.

Fez was released to critical acclaim upon its 2012 launch on Xbox 360. Subsequent years saw the game ported to PC, Mac, Linux, PS3, Vita, and PS4.

Creative lead Phil Fish briefly announced a sequel to Fez in 2013 before deciding a month later to cancel it and step away from the video game industry.

In 2016 his programmer partner Renaud Bédard later patched the PC, Mac and Linux versions of Fez to add a Speedrun Mode.

Fez will no doubt have aged well over the half-decade since its release. "The game's unique artwork, its perspective-shift mechanic, its nostalgia for the 16-bit years and its bewitchingly strange setting all exist in total harmony and make a single, deliberate statement," Eurogamer editor Oli Welsh said in his Fez review. That remains as true today as it was in 2012.
