E3: New Piñata game revealed

But it isn't from Rare.

This morning Microsoft revealed a new Viva Piñata game at it's E3 conference.

However, it won't be a sequel built by original developer Rare. Instead Krome Studios will be making a party game made-up of over 40 mini-games inspired by the paper creatures from the animated television series. That's Hudson Horstachio, Paulie Preztail, Franklin Fizzlybear and Fergy Fudgehog to name a few.

Dubbed Party Animals, it will let you play with up-to four friends in your living room or over Live, enjoying activities like racing around towns, belching boats down streams and smashing stuff in gardens. It's due out this Christmas.

Microsoft also announced it would be bringing the original Viva Piñata to PC. It will feature Windows Live support, although we're not sure what form this will take, and other specific details like a date were also not mentioned.

Keep your eyes peeled over the next few days for any screenshots or movies.
