Busting out new Midnight Ghost Hunt gameplay makes us feel good

Prop Haunt.

Over on the Eurogamer YouTube channel we've carved out quite the niche for ourselves when it comes to yelping our way through co-operative horror games.

With all the practice we've had, it stands to reason that we'd be pretty good at surviving a spirit-based onslaught by now, but how did we fare as a team of ghost hunters when we were pitted against actual players in the role of vengeful ghosts, rather than some clunky AI?

Last week we were given 20 minutes to try out the second closed beta for Midnight Ghost Hunt and we've busted out the gameplay from that session so that you can witness all the non-corporeal chaos for yourself.

As you'll see in the video above, Midnight ghost Hunt is a 4v4 hide and seek game with a paranormal twist. For the first phase of the game, the ghost hunters need to find and bust the team of ghosts who are disguising themselves 'Prop Hunt' style as inanimate objects. The ghost hunters have a variety of tools on offer which help them to track down the sneaky spooks, but there's only a limited amount of time to do so because once the in-game clock strikes twelve, the tables are turned and the hunters become the hunted.

Whilst we were only able to try out two rounds during our sneak peek, one as the hunters and one as the ghosts, we definitely got a great taste of game's potential for mayhem so expect to see us playing more once Midnight Ghost Hunt releases later this year.
