Blacksite in October

Slips a month.

Midway has announced that giant octopus-shooter Blacksite: Area 51 will be released in Europe on 26th October.

The beans were spilled in another of those financial calls, where the game was cannily moved out of Halo 3 month, September.

Blacksite is a follow-on to Area 51 from 2005, pipped as one of the most accomplished shooters on PS2 and Xbox ever.

But the similarities seem to end there, and added talent Harvey Smith (of Ultima, System Shock, Deus Ex: Invisible War and Thief: Deadly Shadows fame - phew) is keen to re-focus the game on being a pure shooter.

The result is a hugely promising title for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC - one we've had a chance to play with and natter to Smith about at the same time. Pop over to our Blacksite gamepage to find out more.
