Bandai Namco outlines what's coming in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot's new DLC, A New Power Awakens Part 1

Coming Spring 2020.

Bandai Namco has given us our first peek at the additional content heading to Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

Courtesy of a blog post (thanks, PCGN), the developer/publisher confirmed it was "bringing characters and transformations from Dragon Ball Super" and revealed that this DLC - called A New Power Awakens Part 1 - "will allow the fans to reach the Super Saiyan God transformation through a training against Whis, in order to face Beerus in an exclusive Boss Battle Episode".

This content will be accessible anytime "during the player's game experience", and it will allow you to use your newly acquired Super Saiyan God transformation in the main storyline.

A New Power Awakens - Part 1 is coming to Season Pass holders in the next few months - "spring 2020"/Q2 according to the publisher - but it can also be purchased along with A New Power Awakens - Part 2 which is slated to release later this year. Details of that second part remain well and truly under wraps for now, though.

A new music compilation pack will also be available for Ultimate Edition owners soon, too.

"Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a fine game, with its best moments being wonderful renditions of beloved scenes from one of the most popular anime of all time," we said in the Eurogamer review. "It oozes with passion for the source material, but I could only recommend it to someone who can match that fondness. If you've only a passing interest in Dragon Ball Z, or worse yet no interest at all, I just don't think there's enough here for you."
