Battlezone launches on Nintendo Switch this summer

Ditches VR headset requirement in May.

Battlezone comes out on Nintendo Switch this summer, developer Rebellion has announced.

The tank shooter came out as a PlayStation VR launch title before launching on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.

Battlezone Gold Edition launches 1st May on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and it's fully playable with or without a VR headset. The Switch version launches this summer, Rebellion added.

Gold Edition includes the game and all the additional content released for it. So, you get all the tank skins, bobbleheads and horns as well as the classic mode based on the original Battlezone's 80s arcade cabinet.

If you already own the game on PC or PS4 you automatically upgrade to Gold Edition. Otherwise, it costs £29.99.
