American McGee's Akaneiro: Demon Hunters enters open beta

Kickstarter 25 per cent funded. Ouya version possible.

American McGee's free-to-play action role-playing game Akaneiro: Demon Hunters has entered open beta.

That means you can go play it now. The open beta lasts from today until 16th January, when developer Spicy Horse will take the game offline for a week for fine-tuning based on your feedback.

The news comes as the game's controversial Kickstarter, which calls for $200,000 to make the already finished game even better, passed the $50,000 mark.

Meanwhile, McGee revealed he's had a chat with the people at Ouya and a development kit is on its way to Spicy Horse. “My hope is that we'll get it soon enough to do a proper eval towards understanding what it's going to take for Akaneiro to run on the device,” he said. “Will update on this ASAP.”
