Medal of Honor 360 beta begins
Try an unfinished game.
The Xbox 360 Medal of Honor beta has finally begun.
Head to the MOH website and log in to your EA account to redeem a beta key. When that key is redeemed you'll be given a token. That token can be used on Xbox Live to download the beta demo.
It sounds like a key is given to anyone with an EA account.
The Medal of Honor beta has been ongoing on PC and PS3 since earlier this summer. Dan Whitehead did some war for Eurogamer.
Beta this.

That's exactly what I've done. Pre order from Game, got the code, cancelled immediately. Easy.

Demo suggests it reflects final gameplay and Beta doesn't.

Except the majority of demos I've played always have a disclaimer saying ' Demo isn't indicative of final product etc, etc'

Everything else tastes a little dull afterwards.

yup. Not to mention the momentary freezes upon death, the kill streaks that result in a full system freeze. The general pew pew nature of the gun play.
It's 'decent' I guess, but because it's so similar to BC2 and MW2, IMO it feels like a half arsed copy that doesn't come across as well as it's inspiration.

Yeah, I can't watch Match of The Day now without wishing McNulty and Bunk were giving their critical opinion on the games.

To have to pre-order the actual game to get a beta code, goes against the whole spirit of betas. I get the feeling, that despite the pedigree, they know this is a stinker and they are trying to tie in as many pre-orders as possible before the reviews come out and word of mouth goes round. Saying that, it couldn't be any worse than Medal Of Honor Airborne.
I don't think I can really be arsed to pre-order, get a code and then cancel the order. Ho hum

a) Halo, CoD and Battlefield have had had highly successful betas in the past and they want to be included in that same clique
b) if everyone calls it shit they can backtrack and say that it's only a beta and not reflective of actual game content - you can't exactly say that about a try-before-you-buy demo.

I've been playing the PS3 version for a while, and despite it's shortcomings, it isn't too bad. With some spit and polish and a few tweaks it'll be a solid, albeit, uninspiring FPS.
Looking forward to trying out the 360 version and seeing how it compares.
Take care all

Thanks for pointing out my mistake which I have now edited.
Perhaps you can change equivalant to equivalent ? For what it's worth, your comment doesn't actually read correctly, but who am I to pick up on spellings and grammar in this throwaway comments section?
I'll go back to playing the beta now.
Oh Dear...sorry for another edit, but you spelt probably wrong too.
perhaps you'd like to pick me up on the spelling of Window Licker

Surely it would make sense to hang on to your pre-order until you receive the code. I doubt Amazon are going to send you one once you've cancelled your order.
I'm going to pre-order with Game.co.uk tomorrow but will give them a call first to actually check that they've got available codes.
Surely they want sufficient people to test the beta and it is helping the developer fine tune the product but, forcing people to pre-order the actual game to get a code is just an crafty sales practice.

It feels very dated, similar in many ways to Soldier of Fortune Payback which is no bad thing in itself but hardly something you'd stump up £50 for.
If you want modern warfare just dig out your copy of COD4, it's still the best
