EA exec: MOH is "simply stunning"

C&C will be revamped too.

We still don't know anything about the new Medal of Honor, but EA Games vice president Nick Earl has told staff that it looks "simply stunning".

That's according to a leaked internal memo reported by Kotaku, in which Earl describes how bosses at EA Los Angeles "have been leading a reinvention".

Apparently Earl "couldn't be happier with the focus and progress these teams have shown" - the other team being the one working on "Command & Conquer with a new digital model" for a world after Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight.

EA has previously said we can expect to hear more about the new Medal of Honor "in the months ahead". Don't bet against a Christmas 2010 release, then, especially since it's an Infinity Ward 'off' year.

An EA exec says one of his own games looks "simply stunning" did anyone expect him to say "simply average" like the last one
  • Apostle #4 2 years ago

It may be and Infinity Ward "off" year, but won't it therefore be a Treyarch "on" year?

Still, be very interested to see a new MoH. Played the last on on PC a fair bit, just as enjoyable as original CoD.

    Medal of honor: RED ALERT

ditch the Germans and add soviets, tesla coils and armored bears

Have Tim Curry as a pre-order MP skin

Have to say I did really enjoy Airborne, considering it was still set in WWII it really did try to mix things up a git, the weapon leveling was a nice touch and it was a well polished game imo (sp at least).

Everything looks stunning when it's being developed. After the two or so years until it's released though, it'll often look pretty average.

    Still, cautiously optimistic.

Really wanna see some ingame from the new MOH. Ive been hoping for a new MOH since ... as long as I can remember. Yeah COD are good and all but I didnt mind having a MOH and COD till a few years back and some extra competition. Funny how the arguemnts of "who does it best" was turned between COD5 vs MW developers.

Next time since lots of times MOH will be mentioned till release I hope for the LEAST a few screenshots :) To at least see the quality of the game visually if nothing else :/

    "Medal of honor: RED ALERT

Add Hasselhoff as playable character and you have the game of the millennium. \0/

Medal of Honor: Paradox - Dastardly Nazis and their zombie slaves are transported to the 21st century where they're annihilated by a small group of indestructible Brit soldiers using hi-tech weaponry.
    Can't fail.

    **NEWSFLASH**

!!!SALESMAN SELLING PRODUCT CLAIMS IT'S GOOD!!!
  • makeamazing #15 2 years ago

Cant be any worse than MW2, so bring it on :)
  • JensonJet #16 2 years ago

If the game looks as good as this Exec suggests I think it's probably running at 30 frames/second... in which case... EA aren't getting my money. I hope I'm wrong though, but with both MW2 and Forza3 being my recent purchases I really can't bear to go back to 90s gaming framerates.
  • dahsif #17 2 years ago

I'm tempted to go the sarcastic way here, but EA's recent track record suggests this game may turn out to be actually good.
    But yeah.
***NEWSFLASH****SALESMAN SAYS HIS VACUUM CLEANER IS GOOD!!! and AFTER THE BREAK: A POLITICAN CAUGHT LYING!!

There's a new Medal of Honour coming out? Sweet, I love the franchise, although I think CoD is a little more realistic. But then, I'm a Halo fan, what do I care about realism?

I'm intrigued and I'll give EA props for trying to innovate recently but the online play is key for me, I've yet to play a single EA game where the online code hasn't been a complete and utter laggy, glitchy mess or has poor collision detection.

This is a huge reinvention and reinvigoration like Airborne was, eh? The best part of Airborne was that trailer where your plane gets torn in half by flak.
  • Freek #22 2 years ago

The last time they tried to change C&C the result was Generals; a generic, boring war game that quickly made them turn back to the old style of C&C.
  • sanctusmortis #23 2 years ago

I'm betting on an Afghan/Iraq-esque conflict, a sort of midpoint between MW's goofy reality and Op Flashpoint's po-faced seriousness story-wise.
  • Johnhost #24 2 years ago

EA is a much better bet then Activision for bringing something new without gouging you and then telling everyone you want fear and suspicion in your development teams.

Fact is I would buy Medal of Honor over MW2 simply because it will not line the pockets of Activision-Blizzard.
  • kongzi #25 2 years ago

wow.. amazing... still, I would be more stunned to play something that didn't smell like a repolished turd I already flushed 10 years ago. If you want me to be interested in an FPS it's gotta have fully destructible environments, euphoria (or similar) animations and all the accompanying particle effects, cover system, gameplay that's tactical, easy to understand and switches it up better than HalfLife2 and Arkham Asylum put together to deliver an truly engrossing single player campaign. All of that at 60fps, of course. That would be simply stunning, anything else just a lame attempt to get some money out of me.
