Gran Turismo 5 DLC UK price confirmed
Get your wallet out.
Sony has confirmed UK prices for the hotly anticipated Gran Turismo 5 downloadable content.
The Course Pack, which includes two new tracks - SPA-Francorchamps (with weather effects) and Kart Space I/II (Normal and Reverse for each), costs £3.19.
The Racing Car Pack, which adds the evolution model of the X2010 ultimate racing machine, the Red Bull X2011, and a line-up of specially tuned touring cars, costs £6.29.
The Racing Gear Pack, which adds 90 outfit items, including helmets and suits of eight famous WRC and NASCAR drivers, a set of twelve helmets and suits, a Gran Turismo Official helmet, and new items from Alpinestars and Simpson, costs £1.59.
The Paint Pack, which adds 100 new colours according to ten different themes, costs £1.59.
And finally the Complete Pack, which bundles together the Racing Car Pack, Racing Gear Pack, Paint Pack, and Course Pack, costs £9.49.
The DLC, to be made available from 18th October in Europe, follows immediately in the wake of Gran Turismo 5 Spec 2.0, a free update that went live earlier this week.
It updates the physics, introduces a new, simplified cockpit view for standard cars and adds new photo modes among other things.

I hope whoever I sold my 2 day old launch day copy of it enjoys the new items.

The GT5 is the best racing sim for the consoles, it may not be the best game, but of the two is the best sim. By a Km.

I've been playing Forza 4 nonstop since it came out, level 26. I just put GT5 in, just to get a little comparison, and wouldn't you know it, GT5 is a considerably better sim. And I must say, the Ai and the new lighting model in Forza are horrible.

Wait, paying for colours?
Well at least they didn't make a car horn pack. I'm pretty certain they were considering it.
But if you think about it, elsewhere people are happy to pay money for avatar pictures or for clothes for their Second Life/PSN Home/whatever characters, so it's not that special.

totally agree with you about the cockpit views. There are some they've done well (ones i've spotted are the Toyota 7 and the Caterham), but those silhouette views which make up the majority are awful.
I'd be happy to pay for premium upgrades for some of the standard cars. Shame they don't offer that. Would love to see more classics offered as premium with decent interiors.
Definitely good to see they're finally offering some DLC though. Interested in the new track, not the car pack.

You can win them in the current seasonals, its just for those who want it straight away, most people will by the complete pack anyway so it's like a nice little bonus
