Watch: Ian goes hands on with Serious Sam VR

Double the gun, double the fun!

I'm a big fan of dumb 90s shooters, so obviously I've played and loved every Serious Sam game out there. That's why I got all giddy at this years E3 when I found out I'd be getting a hands-on with the newest instalment in Croteam's series, Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope.

The demo was played on a HTC Vive, and it saw me dual-wielding a variety of gigantic weapons and unloading them into hordes of enemies that series fans will recognise from Serious Sam: BFE.

While the gameplay in the demo was rather basic - a stationary shooting range with advancing enemies - I still had a lot of fun, especially once I realised I could fire two mini-guns at once.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get direct feed of the game due to unknown conflicts between the Vive and my Elgato, so I had to record the gameplay by filming the monitor instead. Regrettably, that means there's no gameplay audio in this video, but the onscreen action and my manly war-cries should still give you a good idea of how it plays.
