Watch Dark Souls' Undead Asylum recreated in LittleBigPlanet 3
A peculiar doll, indeed.
Dedicated Dark Souls fan and YouTuber Katapultoffel has recreated the opening level of From Software's classic action-RPG in LittleBigPlanet 3.
The above video is shockingly thorough with an incredible cover of the Great Grey Wolf Theme followed by a recreation of the opening cinematic with text offering the elliptic narration. There's even orange tutorial messages explaining the controls, just like the source material.
More impressively, Katapultoffel was able to create a rough approximation of Dark Souls' combat, with a stamina meter, blocking maneuver, evasive roll, and both light and heavy attacks. Even estus flasks see a return here, as does the tutorial boss Asylum Demon.
Katapultoffel said on Reddit that it took them a month to put this carefully crafted piece of fan service together.
"This level is my love letter to the very first Dark Souls. So please enjoy!" the creator said on their LittleBigPlanet 3 page.
