There's not really a shortage of games to play on the Vita, but if you're looking for one of the very best then you can't really go wrong with Velocity, a 2D shooter with an Amiga aesthetic and a refreshingly progressive sense of design.

Good thing there's a sequel coming, which adds a little extra polish and flair to the shooter sections while interspersing them with side-scrolling action that's a little reminiscent of Turrican. Futurlab's just given us another extended glimpse at Velocity 2X, and if it lives up to the trailer - and the original - then it's sure to be a treat.
