Ubisoft announces WRC 2011

And, wait for it, Strictly Come Dancing.

Ubisoft will release World Rally Championship 2011 on 3DS, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this October.

It's the first mention of a new WRC game since Ubisoft acquired UK publishing rights to the series last month.

World Rally Championship developer Milestone opts for a realistic approach to rallying, turning its bonnet up at the arcade Gymkhana antics of Codemasters' DiRT 3.

WRC FIA World Rally Championship cruised a 7/10 last year from Eurogamer's Joao Diniz Sanches, who expected big things from a follow-up: "A little more time spent in the service area fine-tuning its various elements and next year's edition could be spraying the bubbly while standing on the bonnet of its achievement."

Ubisoft's latest schedule also confirms a couple of other titles for later this year. A dance game tie-in for BBC ballroom series Strictly Come Dancing will release this November for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. Will we be able to play as Anne Widdecome? The mind boggles.

There's also a game about an Assassin and some revelations launching then too.
