TGS: Konami takes on Wii Fit

Shows new Active Life title.

Konami has unveiled a new game to compete in the emerging fitness genre on Wii. It even has its own eight-sensor mat peripheral.

Dubbed Active Life: Athletic World, it aims to get your whole body moving as you attempt to recreate various activities on the screen. These range from white-water rafting to mine cart racing, with Konami promising around ten different challenges in the full game.

You will be able to get sweaty with friends, too, in one of several two-player challenges joining the package at release.

Of course it bears more than a passing resemblance to Nintendo's big E3 surprise Wii Fit - the game it will go head-to-head with when both are released next year.

More from the show as it happens.
