Square Enix has announced a new "online action shooter" called Mindjack from Japanese developer feelplus.

Mindjack is due out this October for PS3 and Xbox 360.

It's set in 2031, where corporate power has usurped democracy and technology is beginning to control everyday life.

As you might imagine from the name, players will be able to hack into the brains of enemies, vehicles and civilians to take control of them and do some fighting in cover-based shooter environments.

You'll upgrade your abilities as you go and use real fighting techniques like the increasingly popular Krav Maga (last seen in Splinter Cell: Conviction).

Check out the trailer to get a (slightly) better idea of it.
