Splinter Cell: Blacklist video preview

Anyone for a sewer level?

"You kill him?

"Nah, I just beat the s*** out of him until he was spitting teeth."

"And the rest got the message?"

"No more screaming, no more fighting back - I should have done it to start with."

Ahhhh! There's nothing like a bit of incidental henchmen banter to start off the morning. Blacklist will have to work harder than this though if it wants to keep up Splinter Cell's fine tradition of guards rambling in the shadows about nothing in particular. Remember the airfield, Fisher? This won't be like the airfield, Fisher. They never got over that airfield.

Fortunately, our latest slice of Splinter Cell: Blacklist gameplay suggests that Ubisoft Toronto has more tricks up its jet-black kevlar-mesh sleeve than just repetitive NPC speech. There's little baubles that light up when Sam's in shadow, a new voice actor to process, a way of kicking someone in the head while hanging upside down from a drainpipe, and lots of other lethal and non-lethal ways of getting your Echelon.
