Now you can use Nintendo Labo to play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is now compatible with Nintendo Labo - so you can use the cardboard creation system's handlebar model to play.
A free update to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has added Labo as an officially-supported controller for the game. Official Labo support for other Switch games is also on the way, Nintendo said.
A new trailer shows how Labo works - with motion controls and cardboard button presses controlling your Mario Kart character on-screen.
Two Labo kits are currently on sale - the Toy-Con 01: Variety Kit, which includes the handlebar design, and the Toy-Con 02: Robot Kit. Each includes a mode where you can create and program your own Labo Toy-Con, and Nintendo is currently running a contest for the most inventive.
The Nintendo Labo Creators Contest Europe opens its submission process on 19th July and runs until 7th September. Prizes up for grabs include unique Nintendo Switch consoles designed to look like cardboard (which may or may not be actual cardboard). There's more details on the official Labo website.
In the meantime, we'll be looking out for more official Labo control options coming in the future. Robot Kit support for Arms springs to mind, but we'd happily take fishing rod Toy-Con support for a new mini-game in Zelda.
