Nintendo swings the DLC season pass club with Mario Golf: World Tour

It was inevitable.

Nintendo has announced its first downloadable content season pass: for Mario Golf: World Tour.

The £34.99 main game comes with 10 courses and 126 holes - an amount, Nintendo pointed out, was equivalent to previous games in the franchise. The DLC adds a total of 108 new holes and additional Mushroom Kingdom golfers.

The plan is to release three packs: the Mushroom Pack on 2nd May when the main game comes out, the Flower Pack later in May and the Star Pack in June. Each pack includes two new 18-hole courses and a new playable character: Toadette with the Mushroom Pack, Nabbit with the Flower Pack and Rosalina with the Star Pack.

Now the small print: each pack costs £5.39 from Toad's Booth, which is in the main menu of the game. But, you can buy all three add-on packs at a discounted rate of £10.79 from 2nd May. If you buy this you get Gold Mario as a playable character. Gold Mario has a special Golden Flower shot that gains coins for every yard it travels. Gold Mario will be available once all the packs have been released if you're only interested in him, Nintendo pointed out.

Meanwhile, Nintendo will offer Trial Tournaments if you fancy giving a sample of the downloadable courses a spin before deciding to buy.
