Any existing owners of the PlayStation 2 Action Replay or American GameShark device who felt a bit miffed by the announcement of Action Replay MAX will be given the opportunity to upgrade cheaply to the new version, Datel has said.

In fact, you don't even have to be miffed - the upgrade scheme for existing owners applies to anybody with Action Replay for PS2 or GameShark 2 Version 2 products, who will be entitled to a MAX upgrade disc for £9.99. No proof of purchase is necessary, as the disc will only work with an existing AR/GameShark cheat storage memory card.
