More Euro UMD movies

From Fox and Sony.

Following yesterday's announcement that Buena Vista is releasing Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy on UMD, two more entertainment giants have shown their support for the format.

First up is Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, which will release 19 titles on the same day the PSP launches in Europe. The line-up includes good films like Ghostbusters, Bad Boys, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, The Punisher and Charlie's Angels, along with rubbish films like Daddy Day Care, 13 Going on 30, Resident Evil: Apocalypse and You Got Served.

Also on the list are Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid, Hellboy, Hitch, Hollowman, A Knight's Tale, The One, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Spider-Man Animated, SWAT, xXx and xXx: The Next Level.

Not to be outdone, Twentieth Century Fox has also announced that it will release a range of UMD titles to coincide with the PSP launch - announced so far are Alien, Alien vs. Predator, Dodgeball, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and the excellent I, Robot.

Sony has yet to confirm an RRP for UMD movies, but it's likely they'll retail somewhere around the £20 mark.
