THUG 2 Remix PSP trailer, shots

New shots, trailer and details of Tony Hawk's PSP debut.

Activision has released new details, screenshots and a trailer for PlayStation Portable title Tony Hawk's Underground 2: Remix, which is due out alongside the handheld hardware in the US on 24th March and should also be a launch title in Europe later this year. Screenshots here, trailer there.

Developed by Shaba Games for Activision, the PSP port of last year's Tony Hawk's Underground 2 features 13 single-player levels (including four previously announced PSP-specific extras - Las Vegas, Atlanta, Kyoto and Santa Cruz) and the shots and trailer demonstrate that environments with little obvious loss of detail or scale compared to the grown-up console versions.

Players will be able to revisit Tony Hawk and Bam Margera's World Destruction Tour in story mode, which sees you trying to win a worldwide game of prank-based one-up-manship, skating and completing Jackass-esque tasks like jumping over a rampaging bull or piloting a shopping trolley, with a Classic mode for fans of the old two-minute timer and goals like collecting the C-O-M-B-O and S-K-A-T-E letters.

Taking advantage of the PSP's wireless multiplayer options, THUG 2 Remix will also include more than 10 four-player wireless mini-games including "Combo Mambo", "SLAP!" and "Scavenger Hunt".

Shaba has also been able to retain much of THUG 2's customisation functionality, allowing for custom skate parks, skaters, decks, tricks, graffiti tag logos, goals and difficulty levels, and you can even import your picture into the PSP via Memory Stick and use it on a personalised character.

In addition to showing off how good THUG 2 Remix looks on the PSP, the trailer - hosted on Eurofiles here - also happens to consist of a showreel of pretty awe-inspiring combos, which presumably means that fans of existing THPS and THUG titles will have no trouble adapting to the slightly different button layout and analogue behaviour.

We'll bring you more on THUG 2 Remix soon - hopefully as we're sitting here playing it!
