MGS4 coming to PS3

But no movie at conference.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is coming to PlayStation 3, Kaz Hirai has confirmed at Sony's pre-E3 conference.

There's no confirmation of an earlier report that it will be exclusive to the format, but following a video soundbite about the hardware from MGS creator Hideo Kojima, Hirai told us: "Yes, Metal Gear Solid 4 will be coming to PlayStation 3".

The game was first announced back in March by series producer Kojima-san. He also revealed that he's taking a back seat this time as executive producer, handing the reigns over to Ken-Ichiro Imaizumi.

That's not to say he's been sitting about doing nothing, though - he's currently hard at work on another next-gen project, also thought to be for PS3 and expected to go on show today.
