More details have emerged for Devil Kings, the forthcoming PS2 title from legendary Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi.

According to US website gameinformer.com, you can choose from a variety of characters to play as including ninja, swordsman, spear-carrier and gunslinger. They've got some screenshots of the game here.

Each character has individual abilities which can be developed as the game progresses, along with unique "critical moves" - like the ability to wield six swords at the same time, for example.

Gameplay is based around hacking and slashing hordes of enemies into little bits, basically, with experience points to spend on upgrading your abilities and weapons, and more than 80 special items to collect.

Unlockable characters are promised, too - and since this is a Capcom game, you can probably expect to see a few old friends from the publisher's other franchises in the mix.

Devil Kings is slated for a 2006 release. We'll bring you more next week, since Capcom will be showing the game at its pre-E3 Producers' Day on Monday.
