Mist Walker working on DS strategy-RPG

Hironobu Sakaguchi reckons the touch-screen is perfectly suited to that sort of game. We do too. Make it.

Former Final Fantasy series director Hironobu Sakaguchi has revealed that one of the projects undertaken by his independent development studio Mist Walker is an as-yet untitled strategy role-playing game for the Nintendo DS.

"I'm a real fan of strategy role-playing games, but I've never created one myself. So I'm planning to design one on my own, writing its scenario as well," Sakaguchi said, speaking in an interview published on the Japanese DS website here.

"I think that the elements in strategy RPGs, such as moving around the pieces or instructing [pieces to move to] areas, go perfectly with the touch-sensitive panel. I'm hoping to make it into a game that can be deeply enjoyed with just the stylus."

We'll bring you more on Mist Walker's project as it develops.
