DS Lite given US date

Out in June.

Nintendo's DS Lite will launch in the USA on June 11th and cost $129.99, the company's announced.

Although the Japanese DS Lite comes in three different colours, Nintendo's only planning to release the white version in the US to begin with.

With the console due out in June, Nintendo's trying to tie it in to the US release on May 15th of New Super Mario Bros., with Reggie saying it's "a double shot of gaming excellence".

Whatever. Those of you curious about the DS Lite's strengths and weaknesses could do worse than to check out our in-depth first impressions of the console - including extensive photographing. And, yes, that is how bright the screen is.
