BFME2 360 maps released

Cost you a couple of pints.

Electronic Arts has released three new maps for the Xbox 360 version of The Lord of the Rings, Battle for Middle-Earth 2.

The new maps - Weathertop, Argonath and Umbar - cost 700 Microsoft points (GBP 5.95 / EUR 8.14 / USD 8.75) and are playable in both single-player skirmish and any of the game's five multiplayer modes.

Weathertop is a four-player map by design, featuring the place where the hobbits were attacked by ringwraiths and Frodo got stabbed in the arm.

Argonath features the enormous king statues that looked very nice in the film when the Fellowship floated past them, while Umbar is a two-player affair featuring the evil Corsairs and lots of naval bombardment.

Some might argue that six quid's quite a lot to pay for a trio of maps - especially given the number of free maps available for the PC original of BFME2 - but then anybody making that argument can always refrain from buying them.
