Mythic doing free DAoC addons

Every two weeks for six months.

Dark Age of Camelot is to get "Camelot Campaigns" rather than a content patch this year, according to our hairy correspondent, reporting live from a Mythic event in the US. The developer will introduce new content once every two weeks for up to six months.

Each new addition to the MMO will further the storyline, with subtle teasers having appeared already twice this month. The campaigns will remain playable after the six months are up too, and you can catch up at any point, playing through all the previous sections at your leisure.

Dragon's Revenge will be the first "Camelot Campaign", and introduces a scaley dragon with destruction on the mind to each of the three realms. Naturally it'll be up to you and your virtual pals to fight back against these beasts, as well as rectify the carnage the lizard leaves in its wake.

Mythic also blurbed that it will be releasing a Catacombs Pack for the game, which will feature the first four paid-for expansions. This is so that Cameloteers can catch up to the necessary levels, and get hold of the new race (the Minotaurs), when the Labyrinth of the Minotaurs expansion pack is released across Europe in February.

No idea what we're on about? Dark Age of Camelot is an MMO released way back in 2002. You choose to play in one of three realms - Albion (Britain), Midgard (Scandinavia) or Hibernia (Ireland) - and battle your rival factions through realm versus realm battles.
