Microsoft has finally confirmed that Israeli company PrimeSense is providing the 3D sensing and recognition technologies in Project Natal.

As Digital Foundry reported last June, PrimeSense provides the "brain" of the Natal camera, which is based on its PrimeSensor reference design.

Project Natal, which uses a mixture of camera and sensors to track control input without the need for a controller, is due to be released this Christmas.

Microsoft has yet to confirm any launch titles or pricing for the add-on, and Eurogamer has heard from numerous publishers that announcements and details on Natal projects are all embargoed until the company's E3 reveal event in June this year.
