Microsoft unveils purple and black chrome Xbox 360 controllers

Shiny.

The latest colours in Microsoft's Special Edition Chrome Series of Xbox 360 controllers will be purple and black, the company has announced.

Microsoft will launch the two new flavours worldwide in March, company mouthpiece Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb wrote overnight, priced $54.99 in North America.

If you live in the US, you'll be able to pick up the black design at Walmart and the purple design at Best Buy. Or you can buy either from the online Microsoft Store.

There's no news of a UK release date or launch pricing, but previous Chrome models have sold here for £39.99.

Blue, silver and red Chrome controllers were released back in 2012, and were followed by a C-3PO gold design in 2013.
