Lord of Ultima enters open beta

Browser-based, city-building strategy.

EA has pushed Lord of Ultima into open beta. The latest in the long-running Ultima series of fantasy games, originally created by Richard "Lord British" Garriott at the dawn of computer gaming, is a browser-based, free-to-play multiplayer strategy game by BattleForge creators Phenomic.

You can create an account and start playing at the Lord of Ultima website. Expect a 2D strategy game based around building cities and an economy, and warring with "thousands" of other players.

It's a free game supported by micro-transactions, with in-game bonuses available to purchase for real money.
