Lots of Kingdom Hearts games launch on Xbox One tomorrow
1.5 + 2.5 and 2.8.
Kingdom Hearts fans rejoice - the Disney and Square Enix mash-up series rolls out in force on Xbox One tomorrow.
The bizarrely-named Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 Remix and Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue collections are both live now in New Zealand, where it is already 18th February.
Look for them at midnight tonight elsewhere, too.
Their arrival (spotted by ResetEra) comes unannounced - though 2.8 popped up briefly in a recent Microsoft Store listing before being pulled again.
For those rightly confused by Kingdom Hearts' bizarre series naming, let me (hopefully) break down what is in each collection.
Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 Remix contains Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 in their director's cut-esque Final Mix forms. Simple enough.
It also contains Re:Chain of Memories, a remake of an intermediary game originally for the Game Boy Advance, and Birth by Sleep Final Mix, a prequel to the first Kingdom Hearts
Along with all that you get two cinematic movies which tell the story of 358/2 Days, a second intermediary game originally for Nintendo DS, and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, a game set after Kingdom Hearts 2 for Nintendo DS.
We're still waiting for UK pricing, but this collection currently costs NZ$90, which is about £40.
Then there's Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. This contains Dream Drop Distance HD, a remaster of the 3DS game which follows Re:coded.
It also adds Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage, a short follow-up to the earlier prequel, and Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover, a film which tells the story of browser/smartphone game Kingdom Hearts χ, a distant prequel to the whole franchise.
This costs an even pricier NZ$105, about £52.
We're yet to hear anything official about the release of these two compilations, but will update if we do.
