IW: "We don't feel tied to making COD"

Plus: Wii not really suitable for MW2.

Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling has said that the studio may go off and do something else once Modern Warfare 2 is out of the way.

"Once this is done, maybe we'll see about doing something new. If we do want to do something else, then we will do it. We don't feel tied to making Call of Duty games," Bowling told Develop (thanks Kotaku).

"We still make Call of Duty games because we're having fun doing it. And when it stops being fun, we'll move onto something else."

Whatever Infinity Ward ends up doing next (apart from riding around on golden superyachts doing handstands), it won't be a Wii version of Modern Warfare 2.

"If we felt like we could deliver the cinematic experience we were going for on other platforms, then we would gladly move to that platform," he explained.

"Right now, we don't think the Wii can deliver the exact experience that we're doing. We like to be very equal across all platforms, and if it's not equal then we won't do it."

Don't worry though, Wii fans. Infinity Ward might not be up for it, but there's every chance publisher Activision will be judging by its decision to have Treyarch port the original Modern Warfare to Wii.

That Wii port and Modern Warfare 2 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 are all due out next Tuesday, 10th November.
