Halo Wars: Definitive Edition comes out this week as a standalone game on Steam as well as Windows 10 and Xbox One.

Previously, the new and improved version of Ensemble's 2009 real-time strategy game was locked behind the Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition bundle.

Halo Wars: Definitive Edition goes standalone on Thursday, 20th April. Unfortunately, the Steam version does not let players play with those who are using the Windows Store version. This, you imagine, is probably the final nail in the coffin for the game's already small online presence on Windows 10.
