Eye-catching city-building strategy game Banished out next month

Knock knock.

Medieval city-building PC strategy game Banished launches on 18th February 2014, its developer has announced.

The aim of Banished is to keep your city's population alive and grow it into a successful culture. To do this you must feed your people by hunting, gathering, agriculture, trade and fishing.

The game is the work of just one person: Luke Hodorowicz, aka Shining Rock Software. He worked as a professional graphics engine programmer making console games for about 10 years before going indie.

"Ah, I remember when I quit my job and thought I could make a game in one year," he wrote on the Shining Rock Software website. "It took three times as long, but it was definitely worth it, and the process was really satisfying!"

Banished doesn't have a price just yet, but it'll cost around $20. Keep an eye on its Steam page for more, and check it out in the gameplay video below.
