Elite: Dangerous combat now playable if you're a £200 alpha backer

Paid up? You can now try single-player space battles.

A portion of Kickstarter success Elite: Dangerous is now playable for alpha backers of the game's crowdfunding campaign, developer Frontier Studios has announced.

Backers will need to have pledged £200 or over to be eligible to try the gameplay slice, which lets users test the game's single-player combat.

Other alpha sections of the game will be made available next year as they're completed, and then will filter down to beta backers who pledged less.

Eight single-player scenarios are included in today's release - watch a few in action below.
