LostWinds 1 and 2 now on Steam.

Elite Dangerous is getting the voice of Captain James T. Kirk himself, William Shatner, as the legendary actor has lent his unique vocal stylings to an upcoming voice pack.

Revealed in the following trailer, Shatner offers over 1300 phrases as the voice of ship AI Orion. The voice pack will be available on 8th Friday, though you can pre-order it now for £9.99.

In other Frontier Developments news, the Cambridge-based developer brought its wonderful LostWinds series to Steam today.

Originally debuting on WiiWare before coming to mobile, LostWinds and LostWinds 2: Winter of the Melodias hearkened back to the Metroid days tasking players with guiding a young boy and his wind spirit friend through a magical kingdom. The Wii version had a unique control scheme in which the nunchuck controlled the boy while the more whimsical Wiimote handled the wind, and this PC-release seems to adapt these dual controls by letting you manipulate the pair with the mouse and keyboard.

You can grab each LostWinds title for £6.99 / €9.99 / $9.99, or get them bundled together in the Blossom Edition for £10.99 / €14.99 / $14.99.
