E3: Metroid: Other M unveiled for Wii

"Edgier" collaboration with Team Ninja.

Nintendo US boss Reggie Fils-Aime unveiled Metroid: Other M for Wii during the company's E3 press conference.

Out next year, the game is an "edgier" collaboration with Ninja Gaiden studio Team Ninja, and appears to combine third-person action with first-person shooting.

A trailer showed in-game footage as well as CGI sequences, which featured Samus as well as another lady she appeared to be very chummy with. The game looked slick and well into development, and had a typical Japanese action-game feel to it, with lots going on on-screen.

"This historic collaboration is going to reveal a Metroid game unlike any you've experienced before," he promised. "It will take you deeper into Samus's story and the Metroid universe."
