Duke Nukem for XBLA?

3D Realms keen on it.

3D Realms big shot George Broussard has said Duke Nukem 3D could be coming to Live Arcade. Apparently all he's waiting on is the go ahead from Microsoft.

The game creator spilled the beans in a comments section on Shacknews, revealing that he'd talked to the platform holder about it already, and had a team all picked out to do the conversion.

"Truth be told, we've talked to Microsoft about it and have some people that would port it," said Broussard. "Just waiting on the good word from Microsoft to continue."

Unfortunately Microsoft was unavailable for comment at the time of writing.

Duke Nukem 3D was originally released on PC back in 1996. For those that haven't played it, it's a tongue-in-cheek shooter with lots of blood and strippers, and brings back fond memories of early LAN parties.

However, Broussard offered-up no news on on-going saga Duke Nukem Forever. This next-generation take on the series has been in development since 1997, and recently hit the headlines as a job posting for the project reared its head. Apparently it will come out, one day.
