Call of Duty: Black Ops has best game ending ever, says Guinness World Records

Halo: Reach, Ocarina of Time and Modern Warfare 3 in top ten.

2010 shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops has the greatest video game ending of all time, according to Guinness World Records.

It polled over 13,000 fans to find the best video game ending ever for an entry in the Guinness World Records 2012 Gamer's Edition book.

This report is spoiler free.

In second place in the top 50 game endings list is fellow 2010 FPS Halo: Reach. Third is Nintendo classic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Rockstar open world cowboy game Red Dead Redemption, Valve first-person puzzle game Portal and Quantic Dream thriller Heavy Rain are also in the top ten.

Gaz Deaves, editor of the Gamer's Edition, said: "Everyone has an opinion on how to end a game whether it's an epic boss fight, a clever plot twist or a 90-minute movie.

"This list recognises some of the greatest endings and hopefully will get gamers talking about what are their favourites and why."
