Bloomberg backtracks on EA/Nexon buy-out report

Two companies actually discussing FIFA Online collaboration.

A report last week that South Korean mega-publisher Nexon was considering an attempt to buy-out EA was apparently a little wide of the mark, according to the news outlet that originally ran the story.

A new Bloomberg story has clarified that the mooted discussions between the two parties were actually concerning the possibility of Nexon distributing the next FIFA Online offering in Asia.

EA is apparently interested in tapping into Nexon's local expertise to more effectively monetise the game in the region, in South Korea particularly.

According to an unnamed source, a partnership could be announced as soon as next month.

Both EA and Nexon have declined to comment.
