Banjo surprise in store - Rare

Lots of work still to be done.

We won't be hearing much about Rare's new Banjo-Kazooie game for a while, says Rare, and when we do we might be surprised at what we do hear.

That's according to head of production Lee Schuneman, who was talking to GamesIndustry.biz about how the game's progressing and why we haven't heard much yet.

Pointing out that Rare's creative director Gregg Mayles is reprising his role on the game - having already worked on the original Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, Schuneman says that Mayles is passionate about bringing in "something entirely new, which is going to be interesting". "There are elements that are going to be very different; I don't think people are going to expect it."

But unfortunately, those of you expecting a big reveal will have to wait. "We've got a lot of work to do on getting the new ideas that the team have come up with to be right and playable and fun," Schuneman adds. "And the team is making good progress with that. There's other stuff that we're doing too and when we're ready to talk about it, we'll talk."
