All remaining Telltale Games series will be gone from GOG next week

UPDATE: 2K working to get Tales from the Borderlands back on Steam.

UPDATE 4.30PM: 2K Games has confirmed to Eurogamer it is working to get Tales from the Borderlands back on sale as soon as possible. As we reported below, it was recently pulled from Steam and will be removed from GOG on Monday, alongside many other titles from the now defunct Telltale Games.

"We are working to get Tales from the Borderlands back up on digital storefronts as soon as possible," a 2K spokesperson told us. "All prior digital purchases of the game will of course still be honoured and supported."

It's good to see one of Telltale's best games secured - especially as its characters tie-in to the upcoming Borderlands 3. Here's hoping other Telltale series get picked up as well.

UPDATE 4.00PM: Telltale series Tales from the Borderlands, The Wolf Among Us, Batman and more will be removed from sale on GOG next week.

All of the late developer's work will be gone this coming Monday, 27th May, GOG said in a statement today.

"Sadly, we need to inform you that, due to company's closure, all the remaining Telltale titles will be delisted from our catalogue on Monday 27th, 10am UTC.

"The titles are as follows: the Wolf Among Us, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, Hector: Badge of Carnage, the Batman series, Sam & Max series, Puzzle Agent series, Tales from the Borderlands, and Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People.

"For everyone who purchased any of said titles prior to delisting, the games will remain in their GOG library."

Earlier today, Telltale fans noticed Tales from the Borderlands had recently been pulled from sale on Steam. There's been no official word yet on the rest of the company's back catalogue there.

Over on the Epic Games Store, there's no change in availability so far for any of Telltale's The Walking Dead seasons. I'm not seeing any obvious removals on either the Xbox or PlayStation storefronts, either. But this may change on Monday.

The disappearance of Tales from the Borderlands is a particular surprise, given the impending launch of Borderlands 3, which features some of its characters. I've asked 2K if it has any plans to pick up publishing duties.

Many of Telltale's older series were removed from sale already, back when the company went into liquidation. Steam lost Tales of Monkey Island, Jurassic Park: The Game and Back to the Future: The Game among others back in November last year.

Telltale Games' closure last autumn came as a shock to both fans and staff at the company - although a crew was pulled together by publisher Skybound to finish Telltale's final season of The Walking Dead. I've contacted Skybound, too, to ask if any of the series it looks after will be affected.
