Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon - Konikoni City, Memorial Hill and Akala Outskirts

Our in-progress walkthrough for the whole Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon island challenge and beyond.

Konikoni City, Memorial Hill and Akala Outskirts are the final stops on your hunt for the Akala Island Kahuna.

Here on this page we'll explain all you need to know about the story and main events as they unfold here, and as with all pages of our walkthrough we'll highlight any and all trainers, items and wild Pokémon available to catch as well.

For more general guides and other walkthrough pages like this meanwhile, head back to our main Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon walkthrough and guide hub.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Konikoni City

Konikoni City is a large, market-based settlement with plenty to see and do. There are plenty of shops, including one selling TMs, a guy selling Herbs (which is actually one of the notorious Ditto!) the usual cosmetic stores, a place for your Pokémon to get a Happiness-increasing massage, and more.

Have a little explore, but the main thing to do here is head to Olivia's Shop, where her helper Probopass will hand you a note as you enter.

It turns out Olivia's at the Ruins of Life, through Memorial Hill and Akala Outskirts to the east. Finish up here in the city (there are several small sidequests) and then head on to the next route!

Before you go, note that Olivia's Shop also has a selection of fossils for sale. You can only buy one, and only half of the fossils are available in each version of Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon, but you can at least earn the others through Poké Pelago if you know what you're doing. They can be restored into Pokémon at the Restoration Center on Route 8, and are the only means of getting these Pokémon outside of trades, so it's worth investigating!

FOSSILS TRAINERS POKEMON ITEMS

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Memorial Hill

Memorial Hill is a rather solumn old graveyard, filled with Ghost Pokémon and a selection of trainers and items.

Work your way through the small maze of gravestones and hedges and continue east (note there's an easily-missed Hyper Potion behind a row of trees near the right-hand patch of long grass), until you're stopped at the border to Akala Outskirts.

There, a rather self-absorbed man with green hair will be berating some Aether Foundation employees, who are having trouble with a pair of Team Skull Grunts.

Defeat the Grunt who challenges you, and the strange man will tell you to meet him at Hano Grand Resort where he'll show you something interesting. It's a bit odd, but before you investigate that, continue on the next short route and then tackle your Grand Trial with Olivia, first!

TRAINERS POKEMON ITEMS

For more on Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon, head to our main Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon walkthrough and guide hub, which includes guides to new Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Pokémon and Pokédex changes, the Festival Plaza, a list of Global Missions and rewards, an explainer on Pokémon Bank, a dedicated page on Pokémon Competitive Training, including IV Training, EVs and hidden stats, Breeding 6IV Pokémon explained and how to farm Bottle Caps fast for Hyper Training. What's more, we have pages on the Rockruff event for getting Dusk Form Lycanroc and, last but not least, a full Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon QR codes list for adding all Pokémon to your Pokédex.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Akala Outskirts

The last step before you battle Olivia, Akala Outskirts is another pretty small route on the way. Interestingly there are three hidden items here, in the three northernmost patches of grass, and a couple of decent fishing spots out to the eastern edge.

Next up: Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon - Plumeria, Kahuna Olivia's Grand Trial for Rockium Z

There are also some rare Pokémon to be had, like Nosepass, from regular walking in the grass, but otherwise this little trail is pretty unremarkable. Make sure your Pokémon are all healed up, then head north!
