Tiger Woods 12: The Masters demo date

A demo of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters will launch on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 8th March.

That's a Tuesday, so no doubt in Europe it'll be available to download from the PlayStation Network on Wednesday 9th March.

Confirmation comes from a USA Today report in which Jim Nantz, the longtime CBS Sports announcer and voice of the upcoming edition of the game, described EA's acquisition of the Augusta license as "the best get ever in the golf game business".

With Tiger Woods 12 EA Sports has endured a difficult time in the run up to the game's 1st April launch.

2009 saw Tiger Woods splashed across the front rather than the back pages as story after story detailing the world's richest sportsman's infidelities hit the headlines.

Last year EA boss John Riccitiello went on the record to say Woods needed to start winning games in order for his business relationship with EA to make sense.

The golfing icon has suffered a serious dip in form since the tabloid feeding frenzy surrounding his extra-marital affairs.

Sales of EA's annual Tiger Woods PGA Tour franchise took a battering last year, leading some to speculate that the two events might have been related.

And more questions were asked last month when EA revealed the box art of this year's game: Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf: The Masters – sans Tiger Woods.
