Virgin cuts staff
More lay-offs in the Titus groupVirgin today became the latest part of the Titus empire to suffer from cut-backs, with trade magazine MCV reporting that 48 of the publisher's staff in the UK, France, Germany and Spain are being made redundant. "We obviously didn't want to have to take these measures, but it is my responsibility to ensure that the company is structured in a way that allows us to move forward", CEO Bob Dewar told MCV. Virgin distributes Interplay's titles in Europe as well as publishing home-grown games such as Codename Outbreak and forthcoming Unreal-engined space action game Maelstrom.
