Anarchy Reigns delayed to July 2012

"It's something to do with scale."

Platinum's Anarchy Reigns has been delayed to July 2012, publisher Sega has announced.

The third-person multiplayer brawler launches on 6th July in Europe, 3rd July in the US and 5th July in Australia.

Sega West senior vice president of marketing Gary Knight said the delay - its second - was in part the result of a desire to make the game bigger.

"Anarchy Reigns brings a new take to the brawler genre and we've decided to take a little more time to deliver the full knockout punch," he said.

"I can't reveal much now, but it's something to do with scale. Let's just say traditional one on one or two versus two fighters will be a thing of the past…"

Anarchy Reigns is an oddball title - an over-the-top beat 'em up with an outlandish cast of characters. Several recur from semi-prequel MadWorld.

Platinum was founded by several members of Capcom's Clover Studio, including Resident Evil mastermind Shinji Mikami. The studio was behind last year's Bayonetta and Vanquish.
