Too Human demo coming to Xbox Live News

Xbox 360 News by Ellie Gibson

14 May, 2008

Silicon Knights boss Denis Dyack has told Eurogamer there are plans to release a demo of Too Human via Xbox Live.

"We haven't announced a date yet. Our goal is to try to get it out obviously before the game releases, and we'll announce the specific timing of that shortly," he said.

"But a demo is absolutely planned. We think it's critical for the game. If things go as planned, gamers should get a demo well in advance before the game's released."

Too Human is out in the US on 19th August, and in Europe on 29th August. So will we see a demo before the month of August kicks off? "Yes, that's the plan."

According to Dyack, they're still debating what the demo will consist of. "The more we put in the demo, the more challenging it's going to be. We're probably going to focus on the first level of the game," he stated.

"We really want people to focus on the gameplay, because the fusion between RPG and action is something really new. You can't really tell what the game's like till you sit down and play."

Visit the Too Human gamepage for previews, screens and videos if you fancy trying to have a guess, anyway.

I don't remember them saying thier was local co-op anyways.
Besides, there are many, MANY games with no co-op at all. Are they now pointless too?

And there is a free demo. Can't bother with a free demo?

I think the best way to do a demo for this would be to take a page out of the Crackdown demo's book - increase the experience gain rate significantly so that you level up fast, and once you hit say level 5 the game starts an internal timer that causes the demo to finish 30 minutes or so later.

It's good news for this game that they're confident enough to put a demo out. No hiding behind their hype like Assassin's Creed.

Not a great example - Assassin's Creed demos incredibly well!

A demo is a good idea for Too Human given the amount of negativity on the game from some sections of the gaming community.
A really good demo could turn about all the negative bullshit that gets talked every time this games name comes up.

Of course the demo has to actually be good as a bad one would probably kill the game.

Hopefully the demo will reveal it to be more than a futuristic version of God Of War. Although that isn't necessarily a bad thing to be, I'm just being greedy.

Good stuff. I'm liking this more and more from what I've seen.

Although a demo for a game with RPG elements is kinda tricky. The Crackdown way is a pretty good idea.
