Leonard Nimoy mind-melds with Cryptic.

MMO developer Cryptic has announced that legendary Star Trek actor, film director, singer and poet Leonard Nimoy will be the special guest at its official unveiling of Star Trek Online this weekend.

This Sunday, Nimoy will introduce the first gameplay footage of Star Trek Online at the Official Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas. The event will take place in the Gene Roddenberry Theater in the Las Vegas Hilton.

There will also be a live webcast of the event.

Cryptic recently confirmed that it had picked up development of Star Trek Online and revealed the first details of the game.

Hope its gonna be better than this film looks like it's gonna be. TBH isn't this game set in the 25th century where Star Trek should be going, what the hell is Nimoy got to do with it. Get Jeri Ryan, Robert Picardo, Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner there

Cause he's one of the biggest names? Voyager was crap! Although Robert Picardo is a really nice guy and Geri Ryan is rather attractive. Patrick Stewart is ace, as is Brent Spiner.

But why complain about getting Leonard Nemoy? You won't even be there

god, i bet Nimoy hates trek

i used to work with a guy who was a REAL trekkie. They would all get dressed up in their starfleet uniforms, and watch star trek episodes togeather. During the moments of battle, they'd mute it, and issue the orders themselves.

Alas; I can't see why Leonard Nimoy would be a bad choice? Atleast he's a celebrity from the Star Trek series. And a cool one at that.
I can't help but think of that film; Galaxy quest.
